Saving Characters not supported

I just started the game and was creating my characters. I wished they had the ability to save created characters and not the fixed 6 characters spaces. The only way I can see is by creating a team, save the game and create new characters for another saved game. Have not been able to play but appreciated updates from the original game when it was fist released.

Needs more patches

You cant tell what the priest spells are by the symbols and the identify spell is useless do not get it for your Mage it will not let you use it

Unplayable on iPhone 6 plus

This game is completely unplayable on my new iPhone 6 plus. Its just too small. I really wanted to finish this game after all these years. I bought it forever ago but never finished it. Alas, I still never will.

Great except for game ending bug in Heart of Winter

Love the BG series and this, but the game attempts to export characters and crashes after you beat the dragon at the end of HoW. Critical bug. Should never have been released like this! Hence a 1. Fix it and 5.

Unplayable on a phone

Dont buy this if you are planning to play on your phone. Everything text, buttons, screen is way too tiny. I want a refund.

A fantastic revisit to the Forgotten Realm

Beamdog has brought us an undistilled Icewind Dale experience. Everything I remember and loved from the original PC masterpiece is here in all its enhanced glory. The touch controls are very intuitive. I have absolutely no complaints. I love being able to carry this game around.

Close but no cigar

With this small of screen (6+). You really need behavior scripts to work They dont. Tried everything under the sun to keep several chars to used ranged attacks against the beetles in dragon eye. They wont. They either rush in melee or just stand there and do nothing Even pausing the game to manually try to queue attacks wont work Nice try, but a successful port this is not

Excellent

I am on Chapter 2 of IWD and thoroughly enjoy this game. I have played ALL Black Isle titles and this is a faithful recreation from Overhaul. This game could be overwhelming for the newer/younger gamer, as theres a lot of management and character management, but the payoff is worth it.

A Classic, Perfected

This is less a review of Icewind Dale itself than it is a review of the port. The game, in brief, is a classic for good reason; its challenging, engaging, and infinitely replayable. If youve never played it, youre in for a treat. If you have played it already... Youre still in for a treat! The ports of the two Baldurs Gate games were frankly problematic, and doubly so on iOS. They have improved with patches, but the initial releases were fiddly and imprecise to control by touch and were riddled with bugs. The Icewind Dale port, on the other hand, is nearly flawless. Overhaul have finally nailed the porting process, and I havent had a problem yet. Youll need glasses to play it on anything smaller than an iPhone 6, but even there its smooth. On the iPad, it sings. Bottom line, buy this game. I cant wait for the previous two releases to be patched to this level of quality! [Edit: for what its worth, the Baldurs Gate ports are now equally polished. Do yourself a favor and pick them up as well!]

Played all the way through plus expansion

The other reviews here are accurate, the programmers did an excellent job on this port. I have been playing this game for the last few months and many hours at a time on my IPad. I completed (I wont say "won" since most of my party perished in the final fight) the main game and then played and completed the expansion. Not once did I encounter any bugs. Really well done port of Icewind Dale. I am hope that they plan to release Icewind Dale 2 at some point !

Do not buy this game!!!

This WAS a good game in its day. There appears to have been little to no effort to modify this game to function on tablets. I would be surprised if it is even playable on a phone. The game also provides little guidance on how to play. As a result you can waste hours trying to do even basic things. I thing it would be a great opportunity if someone made something like this, but it was actually playable!!!

Wow

Love this game

Good god fix the inventory issue!

I basically like this game and I was excited to get a good RPG on my iPhone. But. A way to select multiple items from a stack in your inventory does not exist in the iOS port. This means that if you want to remove say 240 arrows from your ammo bag to refill your archer you have to tap your phone 480 times. Yeah. Two taps per arrow and one at a time. From looking into it this is a known issue theyre just not bothering to fix. To get around it people are saving their game, exporting to the pc version, opening it up, pulling out some arrows, saving the game, and exporting again to their iOS device. This is actually less trouble than moving things around in game. This problem is really a major pain and I cant believe it would be rocket science to fix, so really this game seems basically unsupported. Good luck.

Great build of my favorite RPGS

Works nearly perfect

Perfect

If you like D&D, you have to get this game. A true Classic, with hours of enjoyable gameplay. Highly addictive. Found myself saying "just one more battle" numerous times into the late night. Just great!

Optimize for iphone 6

This is garbage its not optimized for my iPhone 6 screen

Great game!

I’m probably about half way through on my iPad and finding this an excellent game. Not for “casual” gaming, but very rewarding if you are willing to immerse yourself or like D&D. So far all the real action has been underground, so I hope to find some outdoor adventures as well. A bit more roleplaying would also have been nice. But those are just personal taste. If an elaborate, imaginative, visually impressive RPG is your thing, you will enjoy this.

Luremaster crash

Got all the way to finishing the luremaster quest. Put the last gem in the box, and it crashes. Re-load the app and saved game, and it keeps crashing...frustrating...please fix!

Unplayable on the iPhone

they did not bother to update he control for small touch screens at all. This is virtually unplayable on the iPhone.

Great for a pad

Wonderful, extensive gameplay. Deepest storyline I can find on iOS. This really needs a full size pad (originally intended for computer screen). For those not familiar with the computer version, this is more like a RTS, so set the auto-pause! This is not a real time run jump kill. Have to strategize and ambush. Glitches include difficulty getting arrows out of ammo belt (1 bolt at a time) and the export at gems end doesnt include items in various bags holding potions, scrolls, or other holding.
